SOTD (Yep, I'm reentering that trademark): All The Lonely Nights by Mage
Okay, so I haven't posted to this blog in, what, six months now? That is because I forgot not only about this blog, but about my screenplay. Forgive me.
Anyway, here's what's new: I joined NaNoWriMo! It's basically the same as Script Frenzy, except I have to write a novel in a month. To be honest, novels are more my forte: screenplays just feel really clumsy on my keyboard.
So do you wanna know what my novel's about? Do you? Nah, I'll tell you later; my brain is kind of tired after forcing myself to write until I got up to 25k. Yep, that's right.... I failed Nano. I didn't win. But I won something better: a rough draft of a novel that I didn't drop after three chapters! ^^ That is what's important; not winning, but a sense of accomplishment that comes with having tested my limits and creating something beautiful. Tomorrow (well, maybe on the 2nd, I need my rest tomorrow), I'll attack my novel with the same sense of steely determination I cultivated for Nano, and I'll be done by New Year's Eve. Then comes the dreaded editing... but I'll recruit people to help me with that. ^^ I may just be able to publish after that.
Well, if anybody actually read this, thanks for reading, and I'll see you next time!

From the screen to the drawing to the written word...
Okay, here goes: effectively, The Elemental Priestesses: The Ties That Bind is going to become a novel. Yep, that's right: no more pretty pictures, it's all text from here on out. And I've got another surprise for you: the original main character is no more. Instead, the lead has been changed to a friend of hers, Priestess of Fire Raven Strong. The change had to be made: as I was writing, I found myself writing the story more for Raven than I was for Alethea. She's still in the story, though-- we just wont be stalking her as much as Raven. No skin off my bones, though-- honestly, Raven is actually much more fun to write that Alethea, but I still like Alethea.
Well, that's about it-- character bios coming soon (Everyone: "HOW SOON IS SOON?!?!?! @$%!^*&$#@^%!!!!!) Okay, I know, I've been saying the same thing since May, but I swear, I will write them!

I feel so damn lazy...
I haven't edited my story since goodness knows when... I need to get back on the ball. If I even finish one story, I'll be happy.
Well, since I'm here, I might as well tell you about my prom night. It was awesome!! I ate way too much food, drank way too much sugar, and danced all night! I was actually dragged onto the floor half the time, to be honest, but it was fun. I even skated barefoot on the dance floor! 'Course, the best part was getting to throw away all the pomp and circumstance and sleep. Man, those heels were killing me, let me tell you.
Well, that's all the updates I've got. Hopefully, if I get less lazy, there may be character summaries up here soon.

Dear God...
Still very lazy. I really need to get on the ball and start writing again. Oh well; at least I'm still drawing, in any event.
Speaking of drawing... if you're an artist, you'll understand exactly what I'm saying; whenever I look at my old art, it feels like stepping into the Twilight Zone-- a crappy drawing you made, like, four years ago, you were all proud of it then and it took you, like, an hour to draw, but then four years later, it takes you an hour still to draw, but your art looks much better, and then you look at your old art and go, "What the hell?! I can't have drawn this, it looks like a freaking two-year-old's fingerpaint!" It just feels really odd, criticizing your old art when just a few years ago, you were swearing up and down that the drawing was amazing.
Oh well... until next entry. I might just end up posting some character bios over the next few entries.

Slowness....
SOTD - Vincent by Don McLean
Ay, finishing is muy slow. >_< I need to quit procrastinating and get my butt back on that script.
Until I come up with a better synopsys, here's a summary of my script to keep my (future and possibly present) readers satisfied:
Shy, introverted Alethea Coleman is a college student at Excalibur University. Due to her shyness and her looks, she has no friends, and wishes only for a life free of loneliness. As she is laying down to sleep one night, she is literally "spirited away"- her spirit is removed from her body in astral-projection and transported to another world. After escaping her kidnappers with the help of five other hostages (Raven Strong, Bridgett Addison, Melissa Fox, Hilary Asado, and Brianna Marie), she and her companions are taken in by the queen of the kingdom and told of their reason for being there: they are the six Elemental Priestesses destined to collect their Elemental Crystals and save this world from danger. They must now fight for the kingdom and learn to work together- and trust each other.
Yep, so that's it. How do you guys like it? Is there anything I need to change (generic story, etc.)? Is the concept good enough that you'd read it as a manga or go see it as a movie? I need opinions here! WAKE UP PEOPLE!!! (lol Pepsi reference)

I won!!!

Song of the Day(SOTD)- Sayaendou by NEWS
Hello there everyone! For my first blog entry, I'd like to do some bragging: I am an official winner of Script Frenzy 2008! My hard work this month has paid off!!
Now, on to what this blog's about: this will record my future writing progress for anyone who cares. Right now, the plan is to continue writing scenes for my script, lay it down, and then adapt it into a novel, to make my plot stronger. Once I'm done with that, I shall edit my script officially, using the novel's plot, and possibly even adapt it into a graphic novel/webcomic.
There may also be some random off-topic posts, because that's how I am. ^_^
If anyones interested, here's the plot: Six young girls are literally "spirited away" to another world (their spirits are extracted from their bodies and takn away to the other world). They soon find out that the reason they have been brought to this other world is because they are the prophecized "elemental priestesses" destined to save the other world from danger. My mother once suggested I use a male main character, but that's just not my style. ^_^ I like strong female characters. If I wrote a male main character, I'd feel obligated to write her as a "damsel in distress" in order to appeal to a male audience, and that's just not me. I consider myself a feminist, and so I write strong females because I believe a woman has just as much "substance" as a man.
Well, that's about all I have to say. If you're still interested, check back for more!
